Dignify Foundation welcomes women who want to support others through compassionate, peer-based connection.

As an ally, your role is not to fix, advise, or rescue - it is to listen, encourage, and help someone feel less alone. That matters more than you might think.

What the role involves

Allies are peer supporters, not professional advisors. The role is grounded in empathy, appropriate boundaries, and Dignify's values.

As an ally you will

  • ✓Offer calm, respectful listening
  • ✓Share encouragement without judgment
  • ✓Help someone feel seen and supported
  • ✓Point someone toward appropriate community resources
  • ✓Communicate with empathy and maintain appropriate boundaries

You are not expected to

  • ✕Act as a therapist or counsellor
  • ✕Provide legal or medical advice
  • ✕Offer emergency or crisis intervention
  • ✕Pressure participants to take any specific action
  • ✕Promise confidentiality beyond Dignify's stated limits

How it works for allies

All allies go through a straightforward review and onboarding process before being matched with a participant.

Submit an application

Complete a short application form so we can learn about you, your availability, language preferences, and any relevant experience.

Screening and review

All allies go through a review process. We may contact references and will be in touch with next steps.

Onboarding

Approved allies receive orientation materials and guidance on Dignify's values, boundaries, and approach before being matched.

Matching

When a participant chooses you, we make a simple introduction. You connect at a pace that works for both of you.

Who makes a good ally

You do not need professional qualifications. What matters most is that you are:

  • A good listener who can sit with difficult feelings without rushing to fix them
  • Comfortable maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Respectful of different backgrounds, experiences, and choices
  • Reliable and consistent in your availability
  • Genuinely motivated to support others without personal agenda
